Triumphant return with promising offers

West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, has returned to Kolkata after a 12-day tour of Spain and the UAE, where she aimed to attract investments to the state. She expressed great satisfaction with the outcome of her trip, considering it a resounding success.

Banerjee, upon landing at Kolkata airport, expressed her happiness and stated that her tour was exceptionally successful. She shared that significant meetings were organized by FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) and the Indian Chamber of Commerce, resulting in major Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) being signed.

In a subsequent social media post, Banerjee announced her return with promising investment offers and partnerships from Spain and Dubai. She also revealed plans for follow-up delegations and initiatives during the Bengal Global Business Summit scheduled for November.

Key highlights of the tour

During her tour, Banerjee and her delegation engaged in various activities to boost West Bengal's economic prospects. Notably, an MoU was signed with La Liga, the Spanish football league, to establish a talent development academy in the state. Additionally, former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly joined the delegation in Madrid to enhance its appeal.

In Dubai, Banerjee held important meetings with representatives of the Lulu Group International and with UAE's Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, to explore further opportunities for collaboration. This tour aimed to lay the groundwork for future investments and partnerships to benefit West Bengal's economic growth.
