In a significant development, the iHub Anubhuti-IIITD Foundation and iHub Foundation for Cobotics have jointly inaugurated the 'MCC-Medical Cobotics Centre' on the IIT Delhi campus. This state-of-the-art facility, funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) under the NMICPS mission, is set to revolutionize medical training and research in India.
The Medical Cobotics Centre (MCC) is set to become India's premier medical simulation and training facility. It aims to provide training for doctors, paramedics, technicians, engineers, and biomedical researchers. The facility is equipped to offer hands-on simulation training to medical professionals nationwide.
The MCC will collaborate with experts from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to design comprehensive training programs. These programs, ranging from basic to advanced, will utilize cutting-edge technology to advance medical research and development in areas like healthcare robotics and digital healthcare.

Moreover, the MCC will serve as a testing ground for young start-ups in the medical field. These startups are developing innovations in digital medical healthcare, healthcare using AR/VR, AI, cobotics, robotics, and cognitive sciences. The MCC has already launched a funding initiative with grants of up to Rs 1 crore available for startups focusing on digital and medical healthcare innovations.
The collaboration between these two Technology Innovation Hubs promises to usher in a new era of medical advancements, including Assistive Technology, Medical Simulation, Digital Health, Cobotics, and Cognitive Computing & Social Sensing. This initiative seeks to create partnerships between IIT Delhi, IIIT, AIIMS, and other hospitals, ultimately enhancing healthcare delivery and innovation in India.
Government officials, leading medical practitioners, and industry partners from renowned organizations like TCS, AIIMS, Apollo, and Max Healthcare attended the inauguration ceremony, emphasizing the importance of this state-of-the-art facility in advancing healthcare in India.
