The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued yellow alerts in ten districts of the state, including Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Kannur, and Kasaragod. A 'yellow alert' signifies the expectation of heavy rains, ranging from 6 to 11 cm.

IMD sources reported the likelihood of thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds in various parts of Kerala over the next two days. The IMD also shared rainfall statistics, noting that Cherthala received 15 cm of rainfall, followed by Vadakkancherry with 12 cm, Thycauttussery with 12 cm, Alappuhza with 11 cm, and Vaikom with 11 cm between September 28th and 29th.

The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in isolated places in the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Bhadrak on Friday.
