Russian hockey player Andrei Sidyakin caused a disturbance during a domestic flight from Moscow to Ural when he demanded alcohol and made a bomb threat. Known for his disruptive behavior, Sidyakin repeatedly pressured flight attendants for a drink, and when they refused, he claimed to have a bomb and attempted to open the plane's door. The flight attendants spent the rest of the flight searching for any signs of a bomb or weapon. Upon landing in Moscow, security personnel and police conducted a thorough search of the aircraft. While Sidyakin was not arrested, he was barred from continuing his journey to Ural.

It's worth noting that a similar incident involving a bomb threat on a flight from Russia to India was handled differently in January. A chartered flight from Moscow to Goa was forced to make an emergency landing at Jamnagar Airport in India due to a bomb threat received via email. The aircraft was thoroughly searched by a bomb disposal team, but the threat turned out to be a hoax, and the flight resumed after a 15-hour delay.

The incident involving Sidyakin underscores the seriousness with which authorities treat threats made during flights, even if they turn out to be unfounded. Threats or disruptions on flights can lead to significant delays, security measures, and potential consequences for those involved.
