After clinching a gold medal in the women's 50m Rifle 3P event at the 37th National Games in Goa, Anjum Moudgil chose to spend the remainder of her day exploring the popular beaches in the coastal state. Anjum, a two-time world championships medallist from Punjab, secured the top spot on the podium with a total score of 458.9, narrowly edging out her state mate, Sift Kaur Samra, who scored 458.2. Ashi Chouksey from Madhya Pradesh took home the bronze with a cumulative score of 445.5.
Anjum expressed her delight at being in Goa for the first time, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. She found it particularly satisfying to win the gold earlier in the day and decided to make the most of her visit by exploring popular hangouts before her return to Chandigarh the following day.
Having competed in Goa for the first time, Anjum commended the conditions and infrastructure at the Mandrem Shooting Range, located around 40 kilometers from Panaji, where the shooting competitions of the 37th National Games are taking place.
Following her victory at the National Games, the 29-year-old shooter is set to head back to Chandigarh for Diwali holidays. However, her break will be brief as she prepares for the National Shooting Championships, commencing on November 24 at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in Faridabad. Anjum's next goal is to perform well at the senior nationals and maintain the momentum from her gold medal win at the National Games.
