India is grappling with intense weather conditions as heavy to very heavy rainfall affects several regions, notably Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.

Maharashtra faces rain and hailstorm threat

Mumbai and Navi Mumbai experienced heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a warning for moderate to heavy rainfall across Maharashtra on November 26. The forecast includes a potential hailstorm with precipitation ranging from 64.5 mm to 115.6 mm. The public is advised to take precautions, especially in waterlogged and crowded areas.

Tamil Nadu also battling heavy rainfall

Tamil Nadu has been hit by substantial showers, leading to warnings from the Regional Meteorological Department about light to moderate rainfall until November 26. Social media is flooded with videos depicting the challenging weather conditions. Due to persistent rain, schools in Chennai and surrounding districts have declared a holiday.

Snowfall alert in Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh's weather department predicts light to moderate rain and snowfall in higher regions on November 26 and 27, with a gradual clearing from November 28-29.

Kerala tragedy amidst rainfall

In Kerala, a stampede-like situation during an annual festival at Cochin University of Science and Technology resulted in four student deaths and over 60 injuries. The incident occurred during a concert as rain intensified. The sudden rush led to a tragic accident on the festival premises.
