The Rajya Sabha has clarified that it has not revoked the suspension of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha, who was suspended on August 11 during the Monsoon session of Parliament for an alleged breach of privilege.
Sources within the Rajya Sabha stated that Chadha had been found guilty by the committee, and while his suspension of over three months was deemed sufficient punishment, there has been no formal revocation of the suspension.

Contrary to the Rajya Sabha's statement, Raghav Chadha claimed in a video message that his suspension had been revoked, thanking the Supreme Court and Rajya Sabha Chairperson Jagdeep Dhankhar. However, the Rajya Sabha committee clarified that the suspension remains in effect, and Chadha can now attend the proceedings.
Chadha's suspension stemmed from allegations that he included the names of five Rajya Sabha MPs in a select committee without obtaining their consent. The committee was reviewing the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill 2023, aiming to reduce the powers of the elected AAP government in Delhi over services.
Rajya Sabha Chairperson Jagdeep Dhankhar emphasized that the committee aimed to uphold the sanctity of parliamentary proceedings and safeguard the integrity of the institution. He expressed hope that Raghav Chadha would reflect and introspect in light of the committee's decision.
