Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to visit Chandigarh on Friday, dedicating nearly four hours to unveil a series of projects totaling ₹332 crore. Scheduled to arrive around 4 pm, Shah's visit underscores a significant investment in infrastructure and development for the city.

Inauguration of key infrastructure projects

During his brief stay, Amit Shah will inaugurate 12 crucial projects. These include the extension of the Himalaya Boys Hostel at Punjab Engineering College in Sector 12, a sewage treatment plant at Diggian, and the expansion of existing STP plants at Raipur Kalan and Raipur Khurd. Other projects on the inauguration list encompass the extension of the workshop block at Central Polytechnic, the construction of administrative block-C at CCET-26 (degree wing), and the engineering department in Sector 26.

Foundation stones for future developments

In addition to inaugurating ongoing projects, Amit Shah will lay the foundation stone for the sewerage treatment plant-cum-effluent treatment plant, the engineering department at Government High School in Sarangpur, and the Government High School at Karsan. The comprehensive range of initiatives signifies a concerted effort towards bolstering the city's educational, environmental, and administrative infrastructure.
