A delegation representing the Ram Temple Trust extended a formal invitation to President Droupadi Murmu on Friday, urging her presence at the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22. The delegation included key figures such as Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) working president Alok Kumar, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader Ram Lal, and Ram temple construction committee chairperson Nripendra Mishra.
VHP national spokesperson Vinod Bansal announced the invitation on social media, sharing a picture of President Murmu graciously receiving it from the delegation. According to Bansal, President Murmu expressed immense joy upon receiving the invitation and conveyed her intention to decide on the timing of her visit to Ayodhya in the near future.
