In a bid to enhance connectivity, the UT transport department is gearing up to launch a daily bus service from Chandigarh to Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, starting from the second week of February. The service aims to provide a convenient travel option for passengers between the two cities.

Convenient schedule and affordable fare

The Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) bus will initiate its journey from Sector-17 Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) at 1:30 pm, covering the 947-kilometer distance to Ayodhya in approximately 19 hours. On the return journey, the bus from Ayodhya will depart at 4:30 pm, reaching Sector-17 ISBT at 11:05 am the following day. The convenient schedule allows passengers to plan their trips efficiently.

The bus fare for this route is set at ₹1,706 per passenger, making it an affordable option for travelers. The Chandigarh-Ayodhya route adds to CTU's existing network, which already includes destinations in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. The extensive services provided by CTU encompass religious places like Salasar, Khatu, Vrindavan, Haridwar, and Katra.

Anticipated launch date

While the launch date for the new bus service is yet to be officially announced, UT Transport Director Pradhuman Singh assures that it will be disclosed soon. The introduction of this route not only facilitates travel but also aligns with CTU's commitment to providing comprehensive transportation services to various destinations, catering to the diverse needs of passengers.
