'White Paper' on economic management

According to sources, the Centre intends to present a 'white paper' highlighting what it considers 'economic mismanagement' during the Manmohan Singh government's tenure. The document will also discuss potential positive steps that could have been taken at that time. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman emphasized the need for this 'white paper,' stating that India experienced significant setbacks during what she termed as '10 lost years.' She criticized the previous government's policies, stating that they hindered economic growth and progress. Prime Minister Narendra Modi echoed these sentiments during his recent address to the Lok Sabha, asserting that India would become the world's third-largest economy during his government's third term. He criticized the Congress government of 2014 for lacking ambition and vision, stating that they had lost the ability to dream big.
