Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the significant progress made in India's development, particularly focusing on uplifting the poor, youth, farmers, and women. Speaking at the 'Viksit Bharat Viksit Gujarat' program via video conferencing, he inaugurated and laid the foundation for over 1.3 lakh homes in Gujarat under various housing schemes.
PM Modi emphasized that his government's pro-poor schemes have greatly benefited Dalits, OBCs, and tribals, pulling millions out of poverty in the last decade. He stressed the importance of these communities in building a developed India.
The Prime Minister highlighted the rapid progress in housing construction, especially compared to pre-2014 times. Funding for housing has increased, with funds directly transferred to beneficiaries' bank accounts to eliminate corruption. Additionally, homes now come with essential facilities like toilets, tap water connections, electricity, and gas, contributing to significant savings for the poor. Notably, houses are now registered in the name of women, empowering them as homeowners.

PM Modi commended Gujarat's achievements in housing schemes, with over 9 lakh houses built in urban areas and more than 5 lakh in rural areas. Advanced technology is being utilized for quality and speedy construction, including projects like the Lighthouse project.
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi stressed the importance of owning a house for a brighter future, linking it to his government's commitment to eradicating poverty. He urged beneficiaries to support these initiatives and contribute to the nation's progress.
PM Modi also highlighted initiatives like Per Drop More Crop and drip irrigation to address water scarcity, particularly in regions like Banaskantha, Mehsana, Ambaji, and Patan. He discussed infrastructure projects like the broad-gauge line from Ahmedabad to Abu Road, aimed at generating employment opportunities.
