The Punjab and Haryana High Court has ordered the Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) to permit Chandigarh Volleyball Association (CVA) nominees to vote in the national executive committee election on February 17. This decision came in response to a plea from CVA, which challenged the ruling of the returning officer on January 30, denying permission for CVA nominees to participate in the polls.
The court intervened after CVA argued that the returning officer lacked the authority to determine the electoral college. According to CVA, this determination should have been made by the National Sports Federation (NSF), as outlined in the model election guidelines. Considering these arguments, the court directed VFI to allow CVA nominees to cast their votes.

CVA's lawyer, Narender Singh, mentioned that earlier on February 8, the high court had requested responses from the Centre, Indian Olympic Association (IOA), and VFI. The bench, led by Justice Vinod S Bhardwaj, clarified that the election results would be contingent upon the court's decision on the dispute. The next hearing is scheduled for April 25.
