Over 500 dogs from 30 different breeds are taking part in the two-day Chandigarh Pet Expo 2024 and 75th All Breed Dog Show, which kicked off at Parade Ground, Sector 17, on Saturday. The event, running from 10 am to 8 pm, promises a series of exciting competitions judged by an international panel of eight experts.
Organized by CAT Consult in collaboration with Chandigarh Kennel Club, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), and Small Animals Clinicians’ Association (SACA), the expo aims to bring together pet enthusiasts and professionals to discuss various aspects of pet welfare and care.

During the inauguration, GADVASU vice-chancellor Dr. Inderjeet Singh emphasized the growing importance of pets in modern families and praised the event for its contribution to pet protection and advocacy.
Meanwhile, Nexus Elante Mall is hosting a concurrent pet festival called "Pet Fed" until Sunday, featuring a range of activities and games aimed at raising awareness about pet welfare and fostering stronger bonds between pets and their owners. The festival encourages empathy towards animals and highlights the joys of pet ownership.
