Former MLA Nafe Singh Rathee, along with an INLD worker, was fatally shot by unidentified assailants in Jhajjar district. The attackers targeted Rathee's SUV in Bahadurgarh town. Three private gunmen hired by Rathee for security also sustained injuries in the attack.

A CCTV footage surfaced showing the assailants' movement in a Hyundai i10 vehicle just before they fired at Rathee's SUV. The footage, obtained a day after the murder, captured the suspects near the attack site. Police are scrutinizing CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the assailant's vehicle registration number.

FIR filed against suspects

An FIR has been filed against four individuals: former MLA Naresh Kaushik, Ramesh Rathee, Sathish Rathee, and Rahul. The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to gather more evidence in the case.

Senior INLD leader Abhay Chautala criticized the state government for neglecting to provide security to Rathee despite known threats to his life. He demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and State Home Minister Anil Vij.

The attack, coming just before the Lok Sabha elections, drew strong reactions from opposition parties, highlighting concerns about law and order in the BJP-ruled state. State Home Minister Anil Vij assured prompt action and instructed officials to investigate the incident thoroughly.
