In a tragic incident in Jamtara, Jharkhand, two individuals lost their lives after being struck by a passenger train. The accident occurred when the victims were walking on the railway track and were hit by the Jhajha-Asansol Memu passenger train.

Initial reports had suggested that the victims were passengers of the Anga Express, which halted due to a fire alert. However, the Eastern Railway clarified that the accident happened about 2 kilometers away from where the Anga Express had stopped. The railway authority also refuted claims of a fire on the Anga Express.

Investigation underway

Following the tragic incident, a three-member committee has been constituted to conduct a thorough investigation into the accident. The committee will examine the circumstances leading to the accident and identify any potential lapses or negligence.
