A foreign tourist from Spain was reportedly gang-raped by seven men in Jharkhand's Dumka district on Friday night. The distressing incident occurred at Kurumahat in the Hansdiha police station area where the tourist couple was camping in a makeshift tent.
The victim, through her Instagram stories, shared harrowing details of the assault, revealing her swollen face and injuries. She recounted how seven men raped her and assaulted them, leaving them bruised and robbed. Her partner, also visibly injured, expressed gratitude for surviving the ordeal despite facing severe physical violence.

Within a day of the incident, Jharkhand police arrested three suspects. Superintendent of Police (SP) Dumka, Pitamber Singh Kherwar, assured that necessary actions, including the victim's medical examination, were being taken. The police, along with the Spanish Embassy, ensured support for the victim and pledged to combat violence against women globally.
After initially sharing her ordeal on Instagram, the victim removed the posts following police advice to avoid disrupting the investigation. The authorities urged cooperation in maintaining confidentiality to facilitate the ongoing inquiries.

The Spanish Embassy in India expressed gratitude for the authorities' assistance and emphasized the importance of solidarity in combating violence against women worldwide.
