The Bijnor Police issued a warning after a viral video showed individuals forcefully applying Holi colors to a man and two women. In the video, the group stopped the victims, smeared them with colors, and even poured water on them despite objections. The incident occurred when the victims were en route to a medicine shop. One person was arrested, and three others involved were identified and detained based on CCTV footage.

The video depicted the victims, identified as Muslim women, engaged in a confrontation with the perpetrators after their motorcycle was halted. The harassers chanted phrases like "Har Har Mahadev," "Jai Shri Ram," and "Holi hai" while targeting the victims.

Police warning and public reaction:

In response to the incident, Bijnor Police issued a stern warning against such harassment during the Holi celebrations. Neeraj Jadaun, a police official, emphasized the importance of respecting others' consent during the festival and vowed to take legal action against those who violate the law. Actor Swara Bhasker condemned the incident, labeling it as criminal assault and expressing dismay over the misuse of Hindu festivities by perpetrators who act with impunity. Bhasker criticized the lack of accountability for such behavior, implying a failure of law enforcement and societal norms.
