India has firmly rejected China's recent move to rename 30 places in Arunachal Pradesh, calling it "senseless" and emphasizing that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India, has been, and always will be.

India's response

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) denounced China's actions, stating that assigning "invented names" would not change the reality of Arunachal Pradesh's status as an integral and inalienable part of India. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal firmly rejected China's attempts to rename places in Arunachal Pradesh, highlighting India's unwavering stance on the region's status.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju also criticized China, asserting that such actions do not alter the ground reality. He highlighted the patriotism of the people of Arunachal Pradesh, emphasizing that the region is an integral part of India.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar echoed these sentiments, questioning the impact of changing names on the ownership of a place. He emphasized that Arunachal Pradesh has always been and will remain a state of India.

China's move

China's move to rename various places in Arunachal Pradesh, which it refers to as Zangnan, has created a fresh flashpoint in the ongoing border tensions. The list of renamed places includes mountains, rivers, a lake, a mountain pass, residential areas, and land.

India's response to China's attempts to rename places in Arunachal Pradesh reflects its unwavering stance on the region's sovereignty. Despite China's actions, India asserts that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of the country, and renaming places will not change this reality.
