CSK's Ravindra Jadeja made a remarkable return to form in the Indian Premier League 2024 with an outstanding performance against KKR on April 8. After entering the bowling attack outside the powerplay, Jadeja made an immediate impact, turning the game in CSK's favor.

Impactful spell

Facing a daunting task as KKR had a strong start in the powerplay, Jadeja's four-over spell proved pivotal. In his first over against KKR, he dismissed Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Sunil Narine, crucial wickets at the time. Keeping the pressure on, he later claimed the wicket of Venkatesh Iyer in the 9th over. This impressive performance led to figures of 4-0-18-3 for Jadeja, a stark contrast to his previous struggles in the season where he had only taken 1 wicket in four matches.

Comeback of IPL 2024

Jadeja's bowling display at Chepauk will undoubtedly boost his confidence, especially after facing criticism this season. Beyond his bowling, Jadeja has also been under scrutiny for his batting performances.

Former Australian opener Matthew Hayden raised questions about Jadeja's form in IPL 2024 following his innings against SRH. Despite scoring a quick 31 off 23 balls, Jadeja's overall season performance has been in question. With 84 runs in three innings at a strike rate of 140, Jadeja's role in CSK's lineup has been debated.Hayden even suggested that CSK might consider promoting Moeen Ali up the order instead of Jadeja due to his current form. Against SRH, Jadeja came in to bat at number 5, ahead.
