India's External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, recently spoke with Israel's Foreign Minister, Israel Katz, about the rising tensions between Iran and Israel. The two leaders discussed India's concerns regarding the situation and agreed to maintain communication.
The conversation between Jaishankar and Katz comes in the wake of Iran's direct attack on Israel, involving the firing of drones and missiles. The conflict escalated after a suspected Israeli strike on Iran's consulate in Damascus. This exchange of fire marked a significant escalation in hostilities between the two nations.
Earlier in the day, Jaishankar also engaged with his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, to discuss the release of 17 Indian crew members from the ship, MSC Aries, seized by Iran. Both leaders emphasized the need to avoid further escalation and to prioritize diplomatic solutions.

India, through its Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), expressed serious concern over the conflict between Israel and Iran.
