Prime Minister Narendra Modi of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rahul Gandhi, a key leader of the Indian National Congress, are set to ignite fervor in Kerala as they gear up for election rallies on April 15. With the Lok Sabha elections around the corner, both leaders are rallying support for their respective alliances in this crucial battleground.
Modi's day is packed with two key events in Kerala as part of the BJP's election campaign. He kicks off the morning with a public meeting in Kunnamangalam, Alathur constituency, Thrissur District. From there, he heads to Kattakkada in Thiruvananthapuram District, where he'll lend his support to NDA candidates TN Sarasu and Suresh Gopi in Alathur and Thrissur, respectively. Later, Modi will focus on rallying for Union ministers V Muraleedharan and Rajeev Chandrashekar, contesting from Attingal and Thiruvananthapuram constituencies, respectively. Of particular interest is Chandrashekar's battle against Congress stalwart Shashi Tharoor in Thiruvananthapuram.
Gandhi, on the other hand, embarks on a two-day tour in Kerala, beginning with a UDF rally in northern Kozhikode district in the evening. His focus remains on campaigning for party candidates and bolstering support for the United Democratic Front (UDF). As he seeks re-election from the Wayanad constituency, Gandhi will engage with constituents in Wayanad over April 15 and 16. Looking ahead, he plans to address rallies in Thrissur, Thiruvananthapuram, and Alappuzha districts on April 22.
