Strategic talks in France

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan wraps up a significant visit to France aimed at strengthening defence ties between India and France. Deliberations focused on mutual security concerns and enhancing collaboration.

General Chauhan engaged in dialogues with top French defence officials, including General Thierry Burkhard, to discuss areas of common interest and exchange views on security challenges. The visit emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation in addressing contemporary security threats and advancing defence capabilities.

Focus on technological exchange

During the visit, discussions at France's Directorate General of Armament centered on enhancing the exchange of high-end dual-use technologies. Interactions with leading French defence manufacturers, such as Dassault, Safran, Naval Groups, and Thales Alenia Space, aimed at futuristic capacity building for the Indian armed forces.

Additionally, the visit included wreath-laying ceremonies at War Memorials, honoring soldiers of the Indian Expeditionary Force who fought during the First World War. These memorials symbolize the enduring Indo-French relationship and the shared sacrifices made by both nations.

The India-France Strategic Partnership has witnessed significant growth, evolving into a multifaceted relationship encompassing diverse areas of cooperation.
