The much-anticipated match between Gujarat Titans and Kolkata Knight Riders at the Narendra Modi Stadium was delayed due to bad weather in Ahmedabad. Unfortunately for Gujarat Titans, the rain persisted, leading to the abandonment of the match. With this outcome, Gujarat Titans found themselves out of contention for the playoffs, as they could only secure a maximum of 14 points in the league stage.
The washout against Kolkata Knight Riders officially marked Gujarat Titans as the third team to be eliminated from the IPL 2024 playoff race. Despite their efforts, the combination of their poor run rate and the unfortunate weather conditions sealed their fate.
On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders, led by Shreyas Iyer, had a contrasting journey. Having already secured their place in the playoffs, KKR accumulated 18 points in the league stage, placing them comfortably ahead in the standings. With their playoff berth confirmed, KKR continues their quest for IPL glory, while Gujarat Titans grapple with the disappointment of an early exit.

As the league stage progresses, teams like Rajasthan Royals and defending champions Chennai Super Kings remain in contention for playoff spots. Rajasthan Royals need one more win to solidify their playoff berth, while CSK is placed third with 14 points from 14 matches. With the playoff picture becoming clearer, teams are gearing up for the final stages of the tournament, each aiming to clinch the coveted IPL title.
