Sania Mirza recently appeared on Netflix's The Great Indian Kapil Show alongside sports champions Mary Kom, Saina Nehwal, and Sift Kaur. During the show, host Kapil Sharma asked Sania about the possibility of a Bollywood biopic on her life. Kapil mentioned that Priyanka Chopra played Mary Kom in 2014 and Parineeti Chopra played Saina Nehwal in 2021. He then asked Sania who she would like to play her in a movie. Sania humorously replied, “Are there any Chopra sisters left to play me?” She added, “No, I think we have many good actors in our country. Anyone is fine. Or maybe I should play myself.”

Kapil also mentioned that Shah Rukh Khan once expressed interest in playing Sania’s love interest in a biopic. Sania, who recently divorced cricketer Shoaib Malik, made a light-hearted remark, saying, “But I need to find a love interest first.” When asked if she would star in her biopic if Shah Rukh was in it, she responded, “If Shah Rukh ji does the film, I might play myself. And I’ll definitely do it if Akshay Kumar is in it.”

This isn't the first time Sania has shared her admiration for Akshay Kumar. In 2014, Akshay attended one of Sania’s ITPL matches along with Deepika Padukone and Aamir Khan. During the pandemic in 2020, Sania and Shoaib had a 'virtual date' on Instagram live, where she mentioned her long-time admiration for Akshay Kumar, stating, “I’ve liked Akshay Kumar since Mohra days. I’m not gonna ditch him. When nobody liked Akshay, I liked Akshay.”

Sania and Shoaib’s divorce

After months of speculation, Sania and Shoaib Malik’s divorce was confirmed by Sania's family in January 2024. They issued a statement saying, “Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a few months now. She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead.” Despite their separation, Sania continues to focus on her career and personal life, sharing moments of humor and candidness on platforms like The Great Indian Kapil Show.
