Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has set high goals for the upcoming Prayagraj Mahakumbh in 2025, aiming to establish new standards for cleanliness, convenience, and security. In a meeting held in Lucknow on Monday, Yogi emphasized the importance of this event as a global showcase for Sanatan Indian culture. He directed all concerned officers to make every effort to meet these objectives and enhance the global image of both Uttar Pradesh and India.

The Mahakumbh Mela will take place from January 13 to February 26, 2025. Yogi highlighted the success of the 2019 Kumbh, which was organized under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and set a high standard. This time, with higher expectations, the fair will cover more than 4,000 hectares, compared to the 3,200 hectares in 2019.

Key preparations and enhancements

To accommodate the large number of visitors, the transport department has been instructed to arrange for more than 7,000 buses, and the urban development department is to provide a significant number of electric shuttle buses. Additionally, the construction of a new airport terminal is to be completed by October.

Yogi also stressed the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of the Ganga River throughout its stretch in Uttar Pradesh, from Bijnor to Ballia. This effort is crucial to ensure a positive experience for attendees and to uphold the event’s reputation for cleanliness and environmental care.
