Vicky Kaushal’s latest film, *Bad Newz*, has achieved a major milestone by recording the biggest opening of his career. The romantic comedy, directed by Anand Tiwari and co-starring Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk, opened with ₹8.50 crore at the Indian box office. This impressive start has surpassed the opening of his previous hit, *Uri: The Surgical Strike*.
Uri: The Surgical Strike, a 2019 military drama directed by Aditya Dhar, had previously held the record for Vicky’s biggest opener, with ₹8.20 crore on its first day. The film, featuring Vicky as a soldier leading a surgical strike against Pakistan, was a major success.
- Raazi: This 2018 espionage drama, directed by Meghna Gulzar, was Vicky’s first major hit as a lead actor. It earned ₹7.53 crore on its opening day and was also backed by Dharma Productions.
- Sam Bahadur: Released in December 2023, this biopic about Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw opened at ₹6.25 crore. The film, which also featured Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh, competed with Animal at the box office.
- Zara Hatke Zara Bachke: A surprise hit from last year, this small-town romantic comedy opened at ₹5.49 crore and starred Sara Ali Khan alongside Vicky.
Vicky also had a notable role in Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, which featured a guest appearance by Vicky and opened at ₹29.2 crore. His next project is *Chhaava*, which will continue to build on his growing success in the film industry.
