On Wednesday, Congress leader Ajay Maken filed a police complaint against Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu for allegedly calling Rahul Gandhi the "number one terrorist of the country." Maken was joined by All India Mahila Congress Committee (AIMCC) chief Alka Lamba in lodging the complaint at Tughlak Road Police Station in Delhi.
The complaint also includes BJP leader Tarvinder Singh Marwah, Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad, and Uttar Pradesh Minister Raghuraj Singh. Maken's complaint accuses Bittu of making inflammatory statements to incite public hatred and violence against Gandhi. Bittu’s remarks were widely broadcasted on TV and social media.

Marwah is alleged to have made an assassination threat against Gandhi on September 11, suggesting Gandhi would face the same fate as his grandmother. Additionally, Gaikwad reportedly offered a ₹11 lakh reward for anyone who would cut off Gandhi's tongue on September 16. Raghuraj Singh also reportedly labeled Gandhi as the "number one terrorist of India."
Maken has requested that an FIR be filed under various sections of the law, including sections 351, 352, 353, and 61 of the BNS. A copy of the complaint has also been sent to the Election Commission of India.
