The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has chosen Atishi as the new chief minister of Delhi, after Arvind Kejriwal stepped down. Four current ministers—Gopal Rai, Kailash Gahlot, Saurabh Bharadwaj, and Imran Hussain—will stay in their roles. They will take the oath alongside Atishi on September 21. Atishi, who played an important role during Kejriwal's absence, will lead the Delhi government until the next election in February 2025.

AAP also announced Mukesh Ahlawat as a new face in the Delhi cabinet. Ahlawat, who won the Sultanpur Majra seat in 2020, will take over as a cabinet minister. Atishi, known for handling key portfolios like finance and education, is set to become the third woman to serve as Delhi’s chief minister.
