The BJP has criticized Kangana Ranaut for her recent statements about the three farm laws, saying they could create doubt about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s relationship with the people of Punjab. BJP national spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill condemned the party MP’s comments and thanked the BJP for distancing itself from her “consistent rant and illogical statements,” according to ANI.
This is the second time in two months that Kangana's remarks about the 2020-21 farmer protests have led to her party reprimanding her, forcing her to take back her comments. Shergill stated, “As a Punjabi, I must say that Kangana Ranaut's baseless statements against the Sikh community and the farmers of Punjab are damaging the good work being done by PM Modi for Punjab.” He emphasized that her remarks should not undermine Modi's bond with the people of the region.
On Wednesday, the BJP clarified that Kangana Ranaut's remarks do not represent the party's views. BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said her statement about the now-repealed farm laws is her personal opinion and does not reflect the BJP’s stance. He added, “Kangana Ranaut is not authorized to make such statements on behalf of the BJP.”

Facing backlash from both inside the BJP and the opposition, Kangana later issued a clarification, stating, “Absolutely, my views on the Farm Laws are personal and they don’t represent the party’s stand on those Bills.”
Kangana's controversial comments about the farmers' protests are not new. In August, she suggested that the protests could have led to a situation like Bangladesh if the government had not taken strong action. This ongoing controversy highlights the tension between her views and the BJP’s efforts to maintain a unified message regarding farm issues.
