Yogeshwar Sharma, who was Haryana's joint secretary in Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has switched to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). On Thursday, a day after resigning from all AAP positions, Sharma joined BJP in Panchkula. He was welcomed by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and BJP leader Gian Chand Gupta.
Sharma was unhappy in AAP, claiming that the party had ignored him for a long time and did not include him in decision-making. In the 2019 elections, AAP fielded Sharma as a candidate for the Panchkula assembly seat, where he received only 0.76% of the total votes.
