On Saturday, security forces eliminated two terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district during an operation named "Operation GUGALDHAR." The army confirmed that the operation is still ongoing, with a search of the area underway. "War-like stores" were also recovered from the site.

The operation began on October 4, 2024, after intelligence reports indicated an infiltration attempt. A joint effort by the Indian Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police led to the deployment of forces in the Gugaldhar area. Alert soldiers noticed suspicious movements and challenged the terrorists, resulting in a gunfight. The security forces’ swift response led to the elimination of the two terrorists, while the search for any additional threats continues.
