During a campaign event in North Carolina, former U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his belief that Israel should focus on hitting Iran’s nuclear sites in response to recent missile attacks. Trump criticized President Joe Biden for opposing such strikes, emphasizing the need to target Iran’s nuclear program first.
At the event in Fayetteville, Trump referred to a recent question posed to Biden about whether Israel should target Iran’s nuclear sites. Biden said that as long as Iran did not strike nuclear sites, there was no need for such attacks. Trump disagreed, saying, "Isn't that what you're supposed to hit? It’s the biggest risk we have, nuclear weapons." He added that if strikes are necessary, they should target nuclear facilities first.

Tensions between Israel and Iran have been rising after Iran fired nearly 200 missiles towards Israel. Biden acknowledged Israel's right to respond but urged that any retaliation should be proportionate. Trump, however, insisted that Biden was wrong, stating that nuclear facilities should be the primary target. He also criticized Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, holding them responsible for the ongoing crisis in the Middle East. Trump has largely avoided discussing the Middle East conflict during his current presidential campaign, focusing more on domestic issues.
