Baba Siddique was shot dead by three men in Mumbai's Nirmal Nagar area on October 12. Following the incident, Mumbai police arrested five more suspects, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to nine. A Metropolitan Magistrate court has placed these individuals in police custody until October 25.
The police conducted raids in Karjat, Dombivli, and Navi Mumbai based on specific information. The five suspects are believed to be connected to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which is suspected to have orchestrated Siddique's murder. An unidentified police officer confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.

Baba Siddique, 66, was a former Congress leader who recently joined the Nationalist Congress Party led by Ajit Pawar. He was shot outside the office of his son, Zeeshan Siddique. So far, the police have arrested four individuals, including two alleged shooters: Gurmail Baljit Singh (23) from Haryana and Dharmaraj Rajesh Kashyap (19) from Uttar Pradesh. Two other suspects, Harishkumar Balakram Nisad (23) and Pravin Lonkar from Pune, are also in custody.
Pravin Lonkar's brother, Shubham, is currently absconding. He previously claimed on Facebook that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was responsible for Siddique’s murder. Shubham had been questioned in June regarding a shooting incident outside actor Salman Khan's home, which is also linked to the Bishnoi gang.
The police have seized three firearms connected to the murder, including a Glock pistol, a Turkish pistol, and a countrymade pistol. These weapons have been sent to a forensic lab for testing to confirm if they match the bullets found in Baba Siddique's body.
