Anil Kapoor recently marked the 35th anniversary of his classic film Parinda, released in 1989. Calling it "the most powerful film ever made," Kapoor shared a nostalgic message on Instagram with a poster of the film, reflecting on its impact. He expressed pride in the bold statement they put on the original poster, writing, "35 years ago, we had the audacity, the confidence, and the cool arrogance to call it 'the most powerful film ever made.' And to this day, Parinda continues to stand the test of time."
This film is widely considered one of the highlights of Kapoor's career. Directed, produced, and co-written by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Parinda also stars Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, and Madhuri Dixit. It tells the story of two brothers, Karan (Anil Kapoor) and Kishen (Jackie Shroff), who live in Mumbai. While Karan goes to the U.S. to study, Kishen becomes entangled in crime under a ruthless drug dealer, Anna (Nana Patekar). When Karan returns and falls in love with Paro (Madhuri Dixit), Kishen is torn between protecting his brother and staying involved in the underworld.

Anil Kapoor will next be seen in an action-drama film called Subedaar, directed by Suresh Triveni. The story revolves around Subedaar Arjun Maurya, a retired soldier who faces challenges adjusting to civilian life. Kapoor’s character must protect his family from local threats while managing his complex relationship with his daughter, Shyama (played by Radhikka).
The makers of Subedaar recently announced the start of filming and shared Kapoor’s look from the movie. Prime Video also posted a teaser image with the caption, "From the frontlines to the hometown - a fauji never backs down! #Subedaar, Now Filming!" Produced by Opening Image Films, Anil Kapoor Film and Communication Network (AKFCN), and Vikram Malhotra, Subedaar promises to be an intense and emotional journey.
