CHANDIGARH: Digital Media Association, Punjab today welcomed Punjab Govt decision to make Punjabi teaching compulsory in government offices and from 1st to 10th class in all schools.
In a statement issued here Devinderjeet Singh Darshi President of the Association said that government decision to increase penalty for not implementing Punjabi in schools and offices would allow Punjabi language to flourish and get its deserving place.
He said the members of Digital Media Association are committed to cause of Punjabi and giving due space to Punjabi on news portals. He on behalf of Association thanked Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi for showing respect to Punjabi.
The association members hailed the MLAs of all political parties for supporting the two bills passed by Vidhan Sabha unanimously.
The association passed a resolution in this regard at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Satinder Bains. Baljit Balli Chief patron presented the resolution. Others who were present included Devinder Singh Kohli, H.S. Bawa, Parminder Singh Jattpuri, Mahavir Jain and Parshant Sharma.
