In Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, a shocking case has emerged where a 13-year-old boy has been arrested for killing a 9-year-old classmate in an attempt to close down their boarding school. The incident, which occurred two months ago, has left the community in disbelief.

Discovery of the victim

The tragedy came to light on September 26, when the body of the 9-year-old boy was found in the backseat of the school director's car. This discovery initially sparked speculation that the director and his family might have been involved in a ritualistic act aimed at gaining fame and resolving personal issues. Five individuals were arrested for suspected involvement and for tampering with evidence.

However, recent findings have unveiled a surprising turn of events. Superintendent of Police Chiranjeev Nath Sinha revealed that the case took a different direction during interviews with students. The police discovered that the accused, a 13-year-old student, had been asking classmates about ways to close the school.

Upon interrogation, the boy admitted to killing the younger student. His motive was to force the school to shut down, believing this would allow him to return home. The accused revealed that he strangled the victim using a towel, a claim supported by CCTV footage showing him carrying a towel before the crime.

Details of the incident

The accused confessed that after committing the act, he asked a friend to sleep beside him, claiming he was scared. Authorities have since placed him in juvenile detention as investigations continue.

This incident has drawn comparisons to a similar case in Delhi, where a 12-year-old private school student was detained for allegedly pushing and strangling a classmate during a fight. The victim in that case died in the hospital hours later.

The Hathras case remains under investigation as authorities attempt to piece together the circumstances surrounding this tragic event. The accused is currently in custody, and the police are continuing their efforts to ensure justice is served.
