Billionaire Gautam Adani, the chairman of the Adani Group, participated in the MahaKumbh festival in Prayagraj with his family on Tuesday. During the visit, he took a holy dip at the sacred Sangam, performed prayers, and participated in the Ganga aarti. Adani and his wife, Priti Adani, also visited the Bade Hanuman Temple as part of their spiritual journey.
Adani later visited the ISKCON camp at the festival, where he actively took part in “seva” (service). Wearing a traditional tilak on his forehead, he distributed Mahaprasad (sacred food) to devotees and even enjoyed a simple meal served on a leaf plate. He was also seen helping prepare the food, showcasing humility and devotion.
The Adani Group, in collaboration with ISKCON, has arranged food distribution services at the MahaKumbh. This initiative began on January 13 and will continue until February 26, offering meals to thousands of devotees visiting the festival.
Adani expressed amazement at the scale and organization of the MahaKumbh, calling it “extraordinary and unparalleled.” Sharing his experience on social media, he described the festival as a melting pot of faith, service, and culture, all converging at the lap of the holy Ganga.
Adani extended his gratitude to the saints, devotees, and authorities working tirelessly to maintain the festival’s divinity and grandeur. He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for their leadership in organizing such a massive event.

Speaking to the media, Adani highlighted the efficient crowd management and sanitation efforts, praising the police and cleaning staff for maintaining order amidst millions of visitors. He mentioned that such efforts should be a subject of study for management and corporate sectors.
Adani also discussed investment opportunities in Uttar Pradesh, emphasizing the state’s vast potential due to its large population of over 250 million. He assured the Adani Group’s commitment to contributing to the state's development and praised the Yogi government’s focus on progress.
The MahaKumbh, now in its ninth day, has drawn an enormous crowd, with over 10 crore devotees already taking a holy dip at the Sangam. Tomorrow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his cabinet are expected to join the festival. Prominent leaders, including Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and President Droupadi Murmu, are also scheduled to attend in the coming weeks.
This year’s MahaKumbh is special as it marks a “Purna Kumbh,” a rare occurrence after 144 years. This unique alignment happens after 12 Kumbh cycles, making the festival even more significant. The event runs from January 13 to February 26, 2025, offering 45 days of spiritual and cultural experiences. The MahaKumbh is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the confluence of devotion, tradition, and divinity, and Adani’s participation highlighted the importance of spirituality alongside worldly success.
