During the 2019 Kumbh, PM Modi had bathed in the Ganga and washed the feet of five sanitation workers as a mark of respect. On December 13 last year, he had also inaugurated 167 development projects worth ₹5,500 crore in Prayagraj, improving roads, facilities, and services for pilgrims and residents.
Mahakumbh, the world's largest spiritual and cultural gathering, started on January 13 (Paush Purnima) and will continue until February 26 (Mahashivratri). The PM has been actively working to preserve India’s spiritual heritage by improving infrastructure at pilgrimage sites.
