Minister Ravindra Jaiswal has strongly criticized the Congress and the Samajwadi Party (SP) for spreading false information about the Mahakumbh festival. He accused them of trying to weaken people’s faith and labeled them as "anti-Sanatan."

Huge crowd at Mahakumbh

The Mahakumbh in Prayagraj has attracted a record number of devotees. According to Jaiswal, 46 crore people have already visited the holy site. He emphasized that this event is especially significant because it falls after 144 years, making it an extremely auspicious occasion.

The festival is known for its sacred ritual of taking a dip at the Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers. Despite the massive crowd, the UP government claims to have managed the situation well.

However, the opposition parties, especially the Congress and SP, have accused the administration of mismanaging the festival. They argue that the arrangements are not sufficient to handle such a large gathering.

Minister defends arrangements

UP Congress president Ajay Rai recently stated that crowd management in Varanasi had failed completely. He claimed that the city was struggling to accommodate the increasing number of devotees. In response, Jaiswal dismissed these claims, saying that they were made out of frustration. He suggested that the Congress is unhappy with the growing public devotion to Sanatan Dharma.

The minister also pointed out that many Mahakumbh visitors are extending their journeys to visit the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi and the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. He stated that around 10 lakh people are visiting Kashi daily and having smooth darshan at the temple, despite some limitations.

Jaiswal further attacked the opposition, accusing them of being against Hindu religious sites. He said the same parties that had earlier opposed the construction of the Ram Temple and the renovation of the Kashi Vishwanath corridor are now trying to create fear among the people. According to him, these parties are unwilling to acknowledge the government's successful handling of such a large event.

The UP government continues to emphasize that Mahakumbh is being managed efficiently, and they remain committed to ensuring a smooth experience for all devotees.
