The Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj has seen a record number of devotees. Over 620 million people have already taken a holy dip in the sacred Sangam, and on February 26, the final major bath will take place on Mahashivratri.
As part of this grand event, 15,000 sanitation workers took part in a huge cleanliness drive across multiple locations. This effort was aimed at setting a new Guinness World Record. However, the final result of this attempt will be officially announced on February 27.
Rishi Nath, an adjudicator from Guinness World Records, explained the process of verifying the attempt. Each worker was given a wristband with a unique QR code, which was scanned upon entering the cleaning area. This system helped in tracking participation across all four locations.
Additionally, for every 50 workers, one steward was assigned to monitor their work and ensure they followed the record guidelines. There were also auditing teams at five locations who checked steward reports and QR code data before finalizing the results.
