Party demand action against those behind the forged survey

Chandigarh. December 22: Chandigarh Congress today expressed its serious concern at a fake and forged survey published in a news channel to falsely show an advantage to one party in Chandigarh.
The party has lodged a complaint with the State Election Commission today to unearth the deep rooted conspiracy wherein a fake survey was published by a channel by allegedly forging its name. The party also demanded that those who circulated the fake survey and circulated it on social media, should also be tracked down by the Police and punished as per law.
Addressing a press conference at Congress office in sector 35 here on Wednesday, , Raj Kumar Verka, Punjab cabinet minister stated that during Punjab Assembly elections in 2017 a survey was published giving 100 seats to AAP. But it got only 20 seats. AAP is in the habit of circulating such surveys before the elections, which prove to be false. This particular survey also gives an advantage to AAP.
He further said that people of Punjab and Chandigarh have now become aware of such shenanigans of AAP and will give them a befitting reply by totally rejecting them in Chandigarh MC poll.
Rajiv Sharma, spokesperson of Chandigarh Congress stated that Chandigarh Congress has demanded that the Chandigarh Police should register an FIR immediately and book the persons or the party who tried to illegally browbeat the free and fair electoral process by committing forgery on a news channel. It was further stated that the fake survey was published against the clear cut guidelines of the State Election Commission and is an attempt to undermine the authority of the state election Commission and derail the ongoing electoral process.
It is a crude and immoral attempt to influence the electoral process in favour of one party, which will not succeed, he added.
Meanwhile the news channel was quick to lodge a complaint with SSP Chandigarh for committing forgery and illegally misusing the name of the channel today. The complaint by Gurvinder Singh Sall a video journalist of the channel has urged the Chandigarh Police to investigate the forgery done to show immoral and false advantage to one party, who is staring at a massive defeat in the current election.
