Several resident physicians were held by the Delhi Police as they marched to the Supreme Court to protest the NEET 2021 counseling delay. The Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FRDA) organized the demonstration (FORDA). Dr. Manish, the association's president, is one of the detainees.

FORDA alleged "police brutality" in a statement, describing the incident as a "Black Day in the History of the Medical Fraternity." It denounced police violence and declared that all healthcare facilities will be shut down effective immediately.

According to the statement, "Resident Doctors, the so-called “Corona Warriors”, protesting peacefully to expedite NEET PG Counselling 2021 were brutally thrashed, dragged and detained by the police. There will be a complete shutdown of all Healthcare Institutions from today onwards!" 

They also requested the immediate release of all FORDA leaders as well as the arrested resident physicians.

"Showering flowers was a PR stunt, in reality it is injustice that is pouring. I am with covid warriors against the tyranny of the central government," Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader, reacted to the news on Twitter, said.

The physicians were protesting the delay in NEET-PG 2021 counseling by marching to the Supreme Court. The Delhi Police apprehended them.
