Prices began to rise in the last two months, and by the end of November, they were ranging between $7,500 and $8,000 per quintal.

On Tuesday, the highest price for outstanding grade cotton was Rs 8,715 per quintal at the Enumamula agricultural market in Warangal district, and Rs 8,500 at the Jammikunta agricultural market in Karimnagar district.

Cotton was selling for Rs 6,000 per quintal at the start of the season. Prices began to rise in the last two months, and by the end of November, they were ranging between Rs 7,500 and Rs 8,000 per quintal.

The highest price for outstanding grade cotton was Rs 8,715 per quintal at the Enumamula agricultural market in Warangal district, followed by Rs 8,500 at the Jammikunta agricultural market in Karimnagar district.

Officials claim that this is the highest price for cotton in the last three years, owing to lower production as a result of the state's four-month-long drought. The increase in prices is a result of the increasing demand for the product on the worldwide market.

Meanwhile, farmers who have previously suffered losses are delighted to reap the rewards. According to some, this is a genuine windfall.
