Quinton de Kock, a wicket-keeper batsman for South Africa, has announced his retirement from Test cricket. Dekock wishes to spend more time with his loved ones. Cricket South Africa has informed the public about this via Twitter.
Cricket South Africa wrote: Proteas wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock has announced his retirement from Test cricket with immediate effect. Dekock has taken this decision, citing spending more time with his young family.
Quinton de Kock played 54 Test matches for South Africa. He scored 3300 runs at an average of 38.82 during this time. De Kock has scored 6 hundred and 22 half-centuries in Test matches. De Kock had 221 catches and 11 stumping’s during his career.
“It has not been easy for me to make this decision,” Quinton de Kock stated. I’ve spent a lot of time considering what my future holds and what should be my top goal right now. Sasha and I are ready to give birth to our first child and are looking forward to expanding our family. My family means the world to me, and I want to spend as much time as possible with them as I embark on this new and exciting chapter of my life. I’d like to use this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported me throughout my Test cricket career. Without the help of my coach, teammates, numerous management teams, family, and friends, I would not be where I am now. My proteas career is far from ended. I am 100% committed to white ball cricket.
