On Saturday, After a landslide at the Dadam mining zone in Haryana's Bhiwani district, two persons were murdered and 15 to 20 more are thought to be trapped.
The collapse buried around a dozen trucks that were used in mining operations. Police are on the scene, and rescue efforts are still underway.
Three individuals have been rescued so far, and two bodies have been recovered from the wreckage. The injured have been taken to a hospital to receive medical attention.
JP Dalal, the Agriculture Minister, and Ajit Singh Shekhawat, the Bhiwani SP, are also on the site to supervise relief efforts.
SP Ajit Singh Shekhawat confirmed the news, "Two killed in the accident, while two are seriously injured. Four Poklane and four dumpers and other machines are buried in the rubble."
"Some people have died. I cannot provide the exact figures as of now. A team of doctors has arrived. We will try to save as many people as possible," said Minister JP Dalal.
The landslide's cause has yet to be determined. A probe is now ongoing.
Manohar Lal Khattar, the Chief Minister of Haryana, expressed his regret for the incident on Twitter and stated he is watching the situation.
In Bhiwani's Khanak and Dadam hills, large-scale mining activities are taking place. Mining operations were halted two months ago due to an increase in pollution.
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) approved the resumption of mining activities in the region on Thursday, and work started the next day.
There was a lack of construction supplies due to the mines' two-month shutdown. It's thought that explosives were set off to alleviate the shortage, resulting in the landslide.
