On Monday, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra announced that a member of her family had tested positive for Coronavirus, as had one of her staff members.
Despite the fact that her test results were negative, she said that physicians had recommended she has to isolate herself.
"A member of my family and one of my staff have tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday. I have tested negative today however the doctor has advised that I remain isolated and test again after a few days," while replying to Twitter she said.
Rahul Gandhi, the former Congress president was tested positive for COVID-19 in April of last year. He revealed the test result on Twitter, along with the fact that he was suffering moderate symptoms.
Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi has been campaigning for the Congress in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh, where she has been tasked with reviving the grand old party.
Even though Priyanka Gandhi's assaults on the ruling BJP continue to grab attention and generate headlines, poll forecasts for the next Uttar Pradesh election do not suggest a bright future for the Congress, which is anticipated to have a low vote share.
It remains to be seen whether Priyanka Gandhi is able to significantly boost the Congress party's standing in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh.
