On Monday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah presided over a high-level conference to examine the country's internal security situation, emphasising the threat of terrorism and the necessity for collaboration between federal and state authorities.
Through video conference, key officials from central agencies and forces, as well as police officials from several states, joined the meeting.
"Highlighting the continued threats of terrorism and global terror groups, terror financing, narco-terrorism, the organized crime-terror nexus, illicit use of cyberspace, movement of foreign terrorist fighters, and other issues, the Home Minister emphasized the need for better coordination and synergy among the central and state security agencies in countering the ever-changing CT and security challenges," the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said in a statement.
The meeting took place only days after security services indicated there were signs that the Ludhiana court blast last month was linked to Khalistani and narco-terrorist elements operating out of Pakistan. On December 23, a blast inside the Ludhiana District Court Complex killed one person and injured several others.

The MAC serves as a clearinghouse for intelligence acquired by numerous agencies and police departments across the country.
Officials stressed, however, that the gathering did not focus on a single problem. "The meeting was not focused on any specific instance or occurrence." "Various topics involving the country's internal security were discussed," another official added on condition of anonymity.
The meeting was also attended by members of the armed forces' intelligence wings, as well as revenue and financial intelligence organizations.
