Three Jaish-e-Mohammad [JeM] terrorists were killed in an overnight encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district on Friday, according to authorities.
An altercation erupted in Budgam's Zolwa village late on January 6, 2022, according to a police official.
According to the official, three terrorists were killed in the exchange of fire with security troops.
"The three terrorists who were killed were all members of the JeM terror group. Three AK-56 rifles, as well as other evidence, were discovered at the scene of the shooting "Vijay Kumar, Kashmir's Inspector General of Police, said as much.
The identity of one of the terrorists, Waseem from Srinagar, has been established, while the identities of the other two are still being determined, he said.
In the first week of this year, security personnel killed 16 terrorists.
