A round of high-level talks between India and China will be held on January 12 on the Chinese side. This is the 14th round of discussions between India and its neighbor at the senior highest military commander level (SHMCL). On the Chinese side, the discussions will take place at the Chushul-Moldo meeting site.
According to Indian Army authorities, the Indian side is looking forward to constructive dialogue to resolve the remaining points of contention. To end the deadlock, New Delhi and Beijing have been holding discussions on the Line of Actual Control in Eastern Ladakh. There have been 13 rounds of discussions thus far.
The Ministry of External Affairs said earlier on Thursday that the government is closely monitoring “Beijing’s construction of a bridge” in border areas that have been under China’s illegal occupation for around 60 years, and that New Delhi is taking all necessary steps to ensure that its security interests are fully protected.
“This activity has been constantly monitored by the government. This bridge is being built in regions that have been illegally occupied by China for the past 60 years “When questioned about India’s view on the bridge being built by China in Pangong Tso, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi stated.
He went on to say, “As you are well aware, India has never accepted such unlawful occupancy.” “At the same time, the administration has taken all necessary measures to ensure that our national security interests are adequately protected.”
